Procedure for booking on trips - A reminder for new and old club members

You are required to book in on any club trip you wish to attend. To book on a trip, contact the nominated trip leader and introduce yourself. You may want to discuss with them your vehicle capabilities and level of driving skills. Make your booking leaving a contact number; it is your responsibility to reconfirm your place a couple of days prior to departure.

If due to unavoidable circumstances you are unable to attend, please contact the trip leader at the earliest possible time or on the morning of departure.

TOM GROGGIN – Grade C – 5-day mid-week trip through the Snowy Mountains areas along the Murray River on both sides of the border. Explore the high country around Geehi, Tom Groggin and Davies Plain. Members Info

7th Feb - 7th March 2009

Tasmania N-E-W-S - Grade C/B- Four weeks of travelling Tasmania, to reach the most northerly, easterly, westerly and southerly point (hence the trip name). A trip that will include some “touristy” events, such as Salamanca Markets, Port Arthur, Cataract Gorge, but concentrating on finding those excellent tracks that Tassie is so famous for. Savannah Way - Grade C/B - A 6 week tour from Cairns to Broome via the Savannah Way.
The return Journey back to Sydney for those that want to spend some time getting back I am following the coast road all the way back to Sydney with a 2 night stop over in Perth. Members Info

KEMPSEY TO COFFS AND BEYOND - Our annual pilgrimage to the area from Kempsey to Coffs Harbour and north almost to Grafton, including Lower Bucca, Orara and Newfoundland State Forests and Yuraygir National Park.
Saturday night we will be having a barbeque dinner at Two Tails Winery in Orara, who have kindly offered to hold a wine-tasting session for us, as well. Members' Info.

Pigeon House Mountain - Travelling around Pigeon House Mountain, the southern end of Moreton National Park, parts of Budawang National Park as well taking in the breathtaking spectacular views from Pigeon House Mountain and the 360 degree views from Mogood Trig. Camping overnight by the Yadboro River at Long Gully. There will be up to 3 – 4 hour of walk also with the option to wait the walk out. Members' info

NISSAN TRIALS WORKING BEE

The planned work:

  • Finishing the clearing of an access road at the new Event 2 site ( light work).
  • Finish scrub clearing around Event 2.
  • Create a track though some trees and scrub for the revised Event 3.
  • Modifying Event 4 and 2 track obstacles using a Jack Hammer ( a light one). We need people that can help with this activity as many hands make light work.
  • Reviewing work needed of Sunday events.

Baal Bone Gap - Grade C/B - Starting just west of Lithgow we travel from Lidsdale to Ben Bullen via Baal Bone Gap. Travelling along the Bicentennial and Moffit trails there are some spectacular views and some challenging climbs Members Info

Pigeon House Mountain - Grade C - Some Walking - Travelling around Pigeon House Mountain, the southern end of Moreton National Park, parts of Budawang National Park including Yadboro, Flat rock Flat Rock, Shallow Crossing and Boyne State Forests between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay as well taking in the breathtaking spectacular views from Pigeon House Mountain and the 360 degree views from Mogood Trig. Camping overnight by the Clyde River at Yadboro Flat.
Sat will be 4wdrive tracks through the state forests with lunch at Mogood Trig and finally finishing up for the day at Yadboro Flat camp ground For those that would to watch a sunrise on top of Pidgeon House Mountain will have to get up very early and travelling to Pigeon house Mountain for a slow walk (make sure the torch has good batteries) up the mountain for a possible chicken and champers sunrise breakfast whilst watching the sun rise over the east coast and will be a leisurely drive back out to Milton on Sunday. Flinders Ranges/Birdsville Track - Oct 2008 - Flinders Ranges via the Birdsville Track – 3 week trip into the Aussie outback taking in some iconic sites. Starting at Cobar we make our way to Cameron Corner, Innaminka and Birdsville before heading down the Birdsville Track into the Flinders Ranges Members' info

Yalwal to Bendethera - Grade C/B - Have you thought of what you wanted to do on the Labour Day weekend. How about spending time visiting the national parks of Moreton and Duea. You will be travelling from Nowra to Moruya the back way through Yalwal, Moreton and Deua National parks also following forestry trails between the 2 National Parks taking in the views of the east coast with camping at bendethera camping area on Sunday night and Saturday’s night to be determined with a camp oven roast dinner for those that are interested. Monday will be a nice leisurely drive from Bendethera camp ground to Moruya Members' info

Son Of Trails Working Bee– With the Trials being postponed we can have an early start preparing for the Son of Trials. This weekend will be an initial look at what type of events we might run. It will be a relaxing weekend with only a little work and a great chance to visit some of the local sites such as the Zig-Zag Track, Joadja and some river crossings.
