The Nissan Patrol 4WD Club of NSW & ACT Inc. was established in 1976 by a group of four wheel drive enthusiasts from other clubs, interested in pursuing common interests and activities, and aiming to give the Nissan Patrol its own standing. No longer limited to the Nissan Patrol, membership is open to all types of four wheel drives and all ages - both people and vehicles!
The atmosphere has always been one of fun and friendship attracting a wide variety of people from all over Sydney and the countryside. Our Club holds regular driver training weekends for all members, trips from one day to several weeks duration (such as outback trips) and a variety of social activities. The trips are graded depending on the degree of difficulty, to cater for the different levels of driver and vehicle ability or of interest.
We are strongly committed to "Access for All" in our National Parks and State Forests, protecting the environment through the Tread Lightly policy of four wheel driving and helping to "Clean Up Australia" by cleaning up our bushland.
The Nissan Patrol 4WD Club NSW & ACT Inc. supports Four Wheel Drive NSW & ACT (the peak body of 4WD Clubs in New South Wales) and the Outdoor Recreation Party in their goal of maintaining access for all to our National Parks and State Forests.
Since the early 1990's our club has been host to the annual Nissan Trials, which is an inter-club challenge testing the driving skills of both individuals and teams and is one of the biggest events in the 4WD calendar. More recently, we have implemented the Son of Trials and Son of Trials 'PLUS' - both of which are friendly competitions designed for standard and slightly modified 4WD's, with the emphasis on fun competition rather than hard-core action.
The Club holds its monthly General Meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Veteran Car Club Hall, 134 Queens Road, Five Dock starting at 8 pm. Guests are most welcome. You don't need to own a Nissan Patrol (or a 4WD) to attend our meetings. As well as all that boring stuff that you just have to get out of the way when you are running a Club, the meetings include:
Check the calendar for the location of the next General Meeting, as occasionally, we organise meetings at outside locations that are of interest to our members. We invite you to contact us if you would like to know more about the club's activities and aims.
