CAMP ETIQUETTE

A few common sense tips for harmonious camp-sites
RUBBISH
- All rubbish must be taken home with you.
- Plastic and paper should not be burned.
- Cans that could become smelly can be scorched in the fire, cooled, and taken home.
- Check with other campers before burning food scraps, as some odours may offend.
TOILETS
- Pit toilets should have the lid kept closed.
- Dig holes away from watercourses and at least 20cm deep.
- Burn your toilet paper if conditions allow.
NOISE
- Most people go camping to enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors.
- Check with your companions before making noise, this includes music, chainsaws, generators, early start-ups for diesel engines.
- Other suggested sources of aural pollution – snoring, noisy kids and whinging spouses – are probably a little more difficult to control.
And most important for happy camping – tolerance and a fair go for all.
